The company started in 2007 by Ofentse Lloyd Molope as Ngwanammu (Son of soil) creation with the idea of using leather and other materials to create leather accessories i.e. cuffs, watch belts, belts, bracelets, bags, sandals, etc. As he saw a gap in the clothing industry for accessories, as most designers do not have accessories for their clothing range.

It was at a community based organization, ‘Ga-Lowe Cultural Village, where he learned art, sewing, shoe repairs making sandals, belts, and bags. After few years of refining the skill of craftsmanship that he established the company in 2013 and further augmented other materials like gemstones, rivets, threads, and press studs to complete and create what is known and Remps Lopes (PTY) LTD today.

The sole reason Remps Lopes came about with the idea “crafted to suit your flair” for the purpose of having authentic designer wear with authentic and unique hand crafted accessories. As the company grows, they aspire to work closely with local and international designers. To create platforms for local artists and craftsman alike for the creative and unique handworks, they create nationally and the world at large.
